Screen 1, page 2   New Practice Composition 

Once details have been entered on the  Set up New Practice  screen, a second page 

will be available, using the  key, so that you can enter details about the 

composition of the new Practice. 

Directions to Display the New Practice Composition Screen 

1. 

When the opening screen has been completed, use the 

 key. The 

following screen display will then appear.

 `*' after a GP Code shows that the GP has an End Date and no patients 

 `#' after a GP Code shows that the GP has an End Date and registered patients

Understanding the New Practice Composition Screen  

Start Date

Enter the start date from which the composition for this new Practice is to take effect. 

P'ship

After you have entered the start date, fields are available for you to enter the local codes 

of the GPs who will make up the Practice, with effect from the Start Date you have 

specified. One field is available for entering a partnership code, followed by 24 fields in 

which individual GP codes can be entered. 

The 

P'ship

 field can be used as a  short cut  method for entering the required GP codes. 

If a partnership code is entered in this field, it must be in the format `P/xxxxxx' where 

xxxxxx is the 6 digit local GP code of the Senior Partner. When a partnership code is 

entered, the system will automatically insert the local GP codes of all the individual GPs 

within the latest configuration of the partnership, and remove the specified partnership 

code from the screen. The individual GP codes can then be amended if necessary.
