ERROR MESSAGES 

MESSAGE 

MEANING / ACTION 

ADDR absent 

You must enter at least one line of the surgery address.  

ADDR invalid  

The only characters allowed are A Z 0 9     . , and space. 

POSTCD invalid 

Must be a valid postcode format e.g. EX17 4SE or EC2 6LH 

or SW9. 

ADDRESS too short 

An e mail address must be at least 8 characters long. 

`@' REQUIRED 

An e mail address must contain the `@' character. 

`.' REQUIRED 

An e mail address must contain the `.' character. 

INVALID format 

The e mail address you have entered is in an invalid format. 

LOCATION has `@' 

A website address must not contain the `@' character. 

INVALID location 

The website address you have entered is in an invalid format.

CAN'T end with `.' 

The website address must not end with the `.' character. 

HC must be Y or N 

You must enter either

 to indicate whether this surgery 

is a Health Centre or not. 

GEOG absent  

The geographical area must be entered. 

GEOG invalid 

The only characters allowed are A Z 0 9     . , and space. 

TELEXCH invalid

STD CODE invalid 

The STD code must contain numeric characters only. 

TELNO invalid 

The telephone number must either be all numeric or of the

Two identical days have been entered on the same line. 

START missing 

Start time must be present if days or end time are present. 

START invalid 

Must be 24 hour clock, separated by a full stop (e.g. 3.25pm 

must be entered as 15.25).
