9.3.3 Viewing the Postscript form
The form is streamed as Postscript from the www server. It can be previewed and redirected to a printer
by a viewer program that can read Postscript. Such programs include
Ghostscript
 and
Adobe Acrobat
.
The Postscript file can also be printed by copying it directly to a printer port. This is
not
the same as
loading the Postscript file into a word processor and printing it.
Ghostscript is free to use although registering and support is requested. It can be downloaded from
http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/doc/AFPL/index.htm
. You also need
GSView
 which is a Windows front
end to Ghostscript. You can download it from the same place as Ghostscript.
Adobe Acrobat is a commercial program. Do not confuse Adobe Acrobat with
Adobe Reader
. The
Reader is free for downloading from
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/
 whereas Adobe Acrobat is
not. Adobe Acrobat supports both reading and writing Postscript and Portable Document Format (PDF).
Below is a picture generated by the JSP listing in chapter 9.3.2 . The Postscript file has been opened with
GSview.
