The above picture describes the e FixIT architecture briefly on a top level. 

The server 

application component

 holds run time state information and communicates with the 

database directly using FixIT database components. 

The application component is  a FixIT application (or a regular PC database client 

application) without a graphical interface 

. Much of the functionality that was originally 

included in Delphi/Web FixIT has been implemented in e FixIT.

The 

WWW server

 is responsible for providing client with a HTML presentation of the application. 

This is done by combining

JSP Pages

 (JavaServer Pages) with FixIT database components; 

database values are inserted into HTML code by JSP tags which communicate with the server 

application component. 

The communication between client (WWW browser) and application server is done using HTTP or 

HTTPS.
