Afterword
How certain am I of these predictions? I am very certain of the broad
strokes of these events. I am certain of all the major events and points. I am
less certain about the exact details and exact timing of each event.
I understand certain things about the future, mainly by interpreting Sacred
Scripture, and also by understanding the words of the Virgin Mary about the
future at places like La Salette, Fatima, Medjugorje, and Garabandal. But I
myself have never received any private revelation of any kind.
I wrote these predictions because I believe that they are true. I have not
written anything that I believe to be false. Even so, I must admit that some
of these predictions could contain errors. The words of Holy Scripture, and
the meaning of those words, is entirely without error. But my interpretations
of Holy Scripture could contain some mistakes.
Previous editions of this book did contain errors. For example, I
predicted, in an earlier edition of this book, that the war among the Arab
nations and the subsequent related events (invasion of Europe, etc.) would
begin in 1998/1999. These events did not occur at that time. I have adjusted
the time frame for the beginning of that set of events repeatedly in previous
versions of this book. I believe now that I have the correct time period for
the beginning of that sequence of events: 2009/2010. But most predictions in
this book have remained essentially the same from one edition to the next.
In this fifth edition of the book, I have included additional insights into
future events that I have had since the completion of the fourth edition. I
have never received any form of private revelation. These insights come
mainly from my understanding of Sacred Scripture, and also, to a much
lesser extent, my understanding of the words of the Virgin Mary at places
like La Salette and Fatima. As I began to translate the books of the Bible
from Latin into English, I found, in my translation of Daniel, a better
understanding of the future events described in that book. This improved
understanding (especially concerning the kingdom of the ten kings and the
Antichrist) is reflected in this new edition.
I suspect that the actual events, as they unfold, may differ somewhat from
my predictions mainly by being more complex than my understanding and
the description found within these pages. Even so, many of these predicted
events must necessarily occur sooner or later. For example, the events
described in the book of Revelation cannot fail to occur, for God's Holy
Infallible Scripture cannot fail. However, my interpretation of Sacred
Scripture could possibly contain some errors or misunderstandings. Even so,
