If there is no common administrator account for all workstations (with the same login name and 

password) you will be asked separately for every workstation.  

Pressing the Cancel button will cause the current workstation installation to be skipped, and the AVG S 

Tool will continue installation on the following workstation in the list. 

5.5 AVG Anti Virus Installation on Windows 95/98/ME and Win XP Home 

The installation process on workstations with these operating systems is the same as installation on 

workstations running the Windows NT4/2000/2003/XP Professional OS. However, due to the restrictions of 

these older operating systems it is not possible to run the automatic installation of the AVG Agent 

service. Therefore, before you start AVG Anti Virus installation on all workstations with the Windows 

95/98/Me/XP Home operating system, it is necessary to install the AVG Agent service manually, or using 

the login script. 

For manual AVG Agent installation it is necessary to generate the avgagent.ini file. At the beginning of 

remote installation this file will be automatically generated into the user's data directory   typically 

Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\AVG7. The file can also be generated on 

demand from the AVG S Tool Advanced mode. 

To perform manual AVG Agent service installation, copy the avgagent.exe, avgagent.lng, and avgagent.ini 

files into one directory. Then run the command line: Start menu/Programs/Accessories/Command 

Prompt; using the cd command switch to the directory with the copied AVG Agent service files, and run 

the command avgagent.exe /install /start. 

Once the AVG Agent service is installed on the workstations, you can run all AVG S Tool operations on 

these workstations, including AVG Anti Virus installation and AVG Agent service upgrade.
