Diagnostics

Processes Displayed

The Process Status table displays major processes specific to the Hosting Solution 

Engine:

Process Name

Description

Syslog

PIX syslog messages.

HSEIdleServer

CLI idle log off.

HSERepository

CLI commands for local server.

HSEPoller

View and report poller.

HSEANIServer

The process that performs network 

device discovery. It runs every 24 

hours.

WebServer

The web server.

Tomcat

The Java servlet engine.

Snmptrapd

The process that logs SNMP trap 

events.

ExcepReporter

The process that logs device and 

system exceptions.

CDPbrdcast

The CDP daemon, and identifies Cisco 

devices to their immediate neighbors.

PerfMon

The process that monitors 

performance.

System Log

The system log, which describes the status of the processes running in the system, 

displays the following:

Field

Description

Timestamp (UTC)

The date and time the message is 

logged. 

UTC

 is Coordinated Universal 

Time.

Process

The process that logged the message.
