CSS VIP Redundancy
Use this option to set up redundant VIP addresses and virtual interfaces on two 
CSS devices. CSS provides redundant VIP addresses and redundant virtual 
interfaces. Typically, the redundancy setup is configured on two CSS devices.
The CSS VIP Redundancy subtab enables:
Creating a Virtual Router, page 5 84
Creating VIP Redundancy, page 5 86
Creating Virtual Interface Redundancy, page 5 88
Creating Critical Services, page 5 89
Note
CSS does not support simultaneous CSS box to box redundancy and VIP 
redundancy configurations. 
Creating a Virtual Router
Use this option to create, edit, and delete virtual routers (VR). You can create a 
new VR instance from a list of pre configured VLAN circuit interfaces.
Procedure
Step 1
Select Configure > CSS VIP Redundancy. 
Step 2
From the TOC, click Virtual Router.
Step 3
Click Add to create a virtual router configuration. Any devices that have a 
common VR are displayed.
Step 4
Select two redundant devices from the lists available. Click Next.
