Chapter 5 Configuring Devices
Viewing Provisioned Devices
Hosting Solution Engine follows these rules when displaying device names in the
configuration tree:
Hosting Solution Engine resolves CSM real servers IP addresses into their
DNS name.
Hosting Solution Engine resolves the LocalDirector real and virtual servers
IP addresses into their name defined on the LocalDirector.
Services have names.
Service chassis names display with the DNS name of the primary IP address
of the physical server.
Note
Be sure that Use Reverse DNS Lookup is checked in the Devices > Device
Management > SNMP Settings pane so that DNS resolution occurs. This is set by
default.
Troubleshooting with Configuration Log Files and Processes
When troubleshooting device problems, check the configuration log files and
processes to be sure the problem does not exist in the Configure application. See
the Troubleshooting document for more details.
Viewing Provisioned Devices
Use the Activation or Configuration options under the Configure tab to view
server load balancers.
Note
You must provide device credentials for the server load balancers before you can
view them. For information about setting credentials see
Entering Device
Credentials, page 4 3
.
