KDE and GNOME have very good Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) support in
the most current releases. You should use the W3 standard SVG
(
http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/
)
 when designing vector graphics logos and
other graphics elements for your desktop. They just look better than bitmaps, are
easily resizable, use a standardized format viewable by Web browsers, and are
part of a general Linux desktop tend towards SVG based themes.
