Appendix 5: Configuring Outlook  

Email applications are not configured automatically during installation of the ASTRA proxy client 

software and must be configured manually if they are to use the Broadband satellite path. 

The processes detailed below apply to Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express, although the example 

is based on Outlook Express.  Other email programmes will require similar redirection. 

Configuring Microsoft Outlook requires two separate processes. 

Process 1

 configures Microsoft 

Outlook, while 

Process 2

 configures the ASTRA proxy client software. 

If you entered the POP3 server information at Step 6 of the ASTRA proxy client software installation 

process (as in chapter 6.6.2) you do not need to repeat 

Process 2

, simply carry out 

Process 1

 to 

configure Outlook. 

This section is not dedicated for the SatelliteMail service, but for standard mail 

address such as hotmail for example. If you want to configure you SatelliteMail 

account please go to Appendix 6: 

Create account on Outlook 

1. Launch Outlook Express 

2. Select in the menu option: Tools >Accounts  

3. Select the menu option: `Add` 

4. Click on `mail`.
