Media is an ancient kingdom located where Iraq is now; Persia is an ancient 

kingdom located where Iran is now. The Medes and the Persians are the 

Iraqis and the Iranians. These two nations lead the other Arab nations in the 

invasion of Europe. 

{8:21} Furthermore, the he goat among she goats is the king of the Greeks, 

and the great horn, which was between his eyes, is the same one, the first 

king. 

The democratic nations are referred to as the Greeks because democracy 

began in Greece. The he goat is the great monarch. He is called king of the 

Greeks because he is a leader among the democratic nations and because he 

becomes a leader or king of the country of Greece (when he frees Greece 

and other nations from the Arabs). The he goat is the first leader over 

Greece and the other countries, after they are freed from the Arab 

occupation. 

{8:22} And since, having been shattered, there grew four in its place, four 

kings will rise up from his people, but not in his strength. 

After the great monarch s reign, his kingdom will be divided into four 

kingdoms. The strength of the great monarch is his faith in the Catholic 

Church. The leaders after him will not be devout Roman Catholics. In the 

Book of Daniel, strength often refers to faith in the Catholic Church. The 

leaders after the great monarch will be lesser leaders. 

{8:23} And after their reign, when iniquities will be increased, there will 

arise a king of shameless face and understanding negotiations. 

{8:24} And his advantage will be strengthened, but not by his kind of force, 

and other than what he will be able to trust, everything will be eradicated, 

and he will prosper, and he will act. And he will execute the successful and 

the people of the saints, 

{8:25} according to his will, and treachery will be guided by his hand. And 

his heart will be inflated, and by the abundance of everything he will kill 

many, and he will rise up against the Lord of lords, and he will be knocked 

down without a hand. 

The king of shameless face is the Antichrist; he excels at negotiations, 

deception, treachery, strategies, psychological manipulation, and the like. 

Scripture says,  his advantage will be strengthened.  Again, the word 

strength refers to the Catholic faith. Some unfaithful Catholics will work 

with the Antichrist against the Church, but not by his kind of force. Instead,
