164 The Bible and the Future of the World
The Seven Thunders (Rev 10:1 7)
And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write, but I
heard a voice from heaven saying, `Seal up what the seven thunders have
said, and do not write it down.' (Rev 10:4).
The events in between the sixth and seventh trumpets are symbolized by
the seven thunders. Which events are represented by the seven thunders? I
am not certain. These events are not written in the book of Revelation. (The
seven thunders may refer to seven kingdoms: the great monarch's kingdom,
the four kingdoms that come from the division of his kingdom, the kingdom
of Daniel 7:5 (bear), and the kingdom of Daniel 7:6 (leopard), but I am not
certain.)
The events of the first six trumpets will occur at the end of the 2030's. But
the events of the seventh trumpet will not begin until after the Church has
suffered Her Crucifixion, after the nearly seven years of great suffering, the
time of Antichrist's reign. The seventh trumpet, like the fifth and sixth,
represents supernatural punishments for the wicked (which the faithful do
not suffer). This punishment of the seventh trumpet will occur in the 25th
century A.D., after the Return of Christ.
The events of the sixth trumpet mark the end of the sufferings which will
occur at the end of the Forty Years. By this time, the Arabs have been
thoroughly defeated and driven out of Europe. The great monarch, with the
seal of God on his forehead, begins his reign of peace and holiness. This
time of great success for Christianity is a foreshadowing of the time of the
Millennium.
The punishments of the seventh trumpet (about 400 years later) will usher
in the time of great holiness on earth, the Millennium. This is clear from the
words of the angel, described by John, ...that there should be no more
delay, but that in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh
angel, the mystery of God, as he announced to his servants the prophets,
should be fulfilled. (Rev 10:6 7). The events of the seventh trumpet will
bring to fulfillment the prophecies of the Old and New Testaments about the
punishment of the wicked and the establishment of God's Kingdom on
earth. The angel refers to a delay which has ended with the seventh trumpet
call. This is the delay between the sixth and seventh trumpets, a delay of
about 400 years.
Before the Seventh Trumpet (Rev 10:8 11 and 11:1 14)
The events which will occur just before the seventh trumpet are
represented by the new scroll which is given to John to eat. And I was told,
`You must again prophesy about many peoples and nations and tongues and
