From the Book of Exodus 109
before, nor ever shall be again. For they covered the face of the whole land,
so that the land was darkened, and they ate all the plants in the land and all
the fruit of the trees which the hail had left; not a green thing remained,
neither tree nor plant of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
(Ex 10:14 15).
The next affliction which God sent was a plague of locusts, which ate all
of the green plants and the fruits, so that nothing remained. They also
harassed the Egyptians directly, and they shall fill your houses, and the
houses of all your servants and of all the Egyptians.... (Ex 10:6). Only the
Egyptians had the plague of locusts in their homes; the Israelites were spared
from this.
During the time described in the book of Revelation (near the end of the
Forty Years), something like locusts will be sent by God to punish evildoers
(Rev 9:3 6). But the servants of God who have God's seal on their foreheads
will be spared from this plague. These will not be actual locusts, which Holy
Scripture says will never again come upon the earth with the same intensity
(Ex 10:14) this is also clear from their description (Rev 9:7 11). These
locusts will not eat any green growth; their only purpose will be to punish
those without the seal of God.
Three Days of Darkness (Ex 10:21 29)
     Then the L
ORD
said to Moses, `Stretch out your hand toward heaven
that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness to be felt.' So
Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness
in all the land of Egypt three days; they did not see one another, nor did any
rise from his place for three days; but all the people of Israel had light where
they dwelt. (Ex 10:21 13).
The darkness which came upon the Egyptians was darker than the darkest
night. People could not see one another. There was no light whatsoever, not
from fires, not from lamps, and not from the sun, moon, or stars. Yet the
Israelites had light.
The darkness which God sent on the Egyptians is a foreshadowing of the
Three Days of Darkness which will come upon the world (in late 2039 or
early 2040) during the punishment of the unrepentant, at the end of the
Church's great suffering. The plagues sent upon Egypt, in general,
foreshadow sufferings which will be sent upon the earth at both the end of
the Forty Years and the end of Antichrist's reign (25th century A.D.). For
this reason, I tell you that this time of darkness occurs twice, once at the end
of the Forty Years and again after the end of the Antichrist's reign (Rev
16:10). However, I am not certain how long the time of darkness at the end
of Antichrist's reign will last (it may be longer than three days).
