Chapter 4 Managing Devices
Device Redundancy Configuration Examples
If your CSS devices do not appear in the list, you need to return to the Device
Management and run discovery before completing this step.
Step 8
Enter a name for the CSS pair in the CSS pair name field. Select the CSS
management IP address of the redundant CSS devices. Then click Next.
Ensure that you have configured the device in the box to box redundancy mode
or you will see an error message.
A confirmation message appears if the redundancy setup was successful. If it was
not successful, an error message appears with information on what failed. Click
Finish.
Both devices should now display the redundancy information in the Manage
Device Redundancy window.
Step 9
Click Discover to start the discovery process. You must run discovery for these
devices to show up in the configuration tree.
Step 10
Click Status to check the discovery process. Click Refresh to view the devices in
the Discovered Devices folder in the left pane.
Step 11
Select Devices > Domains to add the devices to a domain. See
Deleting and
Modifying Domains, page 4 52
 for details.
Step 12
Replace the text, Domain Name, with a name of your choice. In this example, we
will call the domain Hosting.
Step 13
Click on one of the redundant CSS check buttons to select all SLB services
associated with this device and include them in the new Hosting domain. The
exact same set of services of the redundant device will be added to the domain
(provided that they exist). Then click Apply.
The new domain will be added to the list of domains in the Manage Domains
window.
Step 14
Select Administration > User Management > Accounts to add a new hosting
user and assign the created domain to this user. See
Set Up and Manage User
Accounts, page 7 2
.
Step 15
Enter the necessary information in the text boxes, select a CLI access level, and
then select the domains and roles before clicking Add. In this example, the
following were entered: the new user is hostmgr, a CLI level 15, the Hosting
domain and the system admin role.
The new user will be added to the list of users in the left pane.
