Managing Device Discovery Settings

To manage device discovery settings for more than one device, use the following 

options.

Caution

Device information is not filtered by user domain. This is an administrative level 

tab and access should not be given to network users. See 

User Management, 

page 7 1

Procedure

Step 1

Select Devices > Device Management > SNMP Settings.

Note

Devices must support IP and SNMP connectivity.

The Discovery SNMP Settings dialog box appears in the right pane. 

Step 2

To discover devices using CDP, select the CDP Discovery check box. Turning on 

CDP may increase discovery time.

Step 3

To discover beyond a router, select the Jump Router Boundaries check box. The 

router CDP table will be discovered and the devices within the table will be 

discovered. The discovery will stop when no more CDP devices are found.

Note

Discovery could take much longer if you do not selectively choose the 

boundaries.
