Chapter 4
Basic System Administration
Introduction
By now, if you have followed the directions provided so far, you should have a
Debian GNU/Linux system up and running. The next most obvious question
is: What do I do with it now that I have it running?
The answer is: First you must decide what the system is going to be used for.
In many cases, even a private workstation will have more than one user
account active on the machine. Even if the machine is not connected to the
Internet or any local net, there will be the need for more than one user account
on the machine from time to time, so there is good reason to understand how
to manage such accounts.
